Working at an East Midlands-based brand agency, we embarked on a transformative journey to consolidate their online presence. With seven outdated websites diluting their brand message, our goal was to unify their digital footprint into a single, cohesive platform while enhancing organic search visibility.

Tasked with optimizing the new website for superior Google rankings, we devised a comprehensive strategy encompassing website planning, keyword research, technical SEO, and meticulous migration planning.

During the website planning phase, I spearheaded the creation of a streamlined sitemap, consolidating the agency’s disparate web properties into a unified structure. This strategic consolidation laid the groundwork for enhanced user experience and improved search engine crawlability.

Conducting extensive keyword research, I identified high-value terms and phrases to target across the website, optimizing content and metadata to align with search intent and increase organic visibility.

Furthermore, I executed a rigorous technical SEO audit, addressing underlying issues and implementing best practices to ensure optimal site performance and indexation. From optimizing site speed and mobile responsiveness to enhancing metadata and structured data markup, no detail was overlooked in our pursuit of technical excellence.

In preparation for the migration, I meticulously planned out redirects from the seven legacy domains to the new website, mapping over 10,000 URLs to maintain organic traffic and mitigate any potential loss in search rankings.

Results

Three months post-launch, the results spoke volumes about the efficacy of our strategic interventions. The unified domain now ranked for 3,506 keywords—an impressive increase of 1,088 keywords compared to pre-launch metrics.

Moreover, the domain secured seven additional keywords ranking in positions 1 to 3 on Google, signifying a significant improvement in search visibility and competitiveness. Additionally, 113 keywords soared to the coveted first page of Google, further solidifying the agency’s digital presence and driving qualified organic traffic to their website.
